Today…
is National IPA Day. I’ll be over here with my sour ale, but you enjoy with my blessing.
Just a quick story, then I gotta run. While I was packing last night, I made the big decision to part with the last of my CD collection. When I tell you I’m a walking GenX stereotype, I mean…
I don’t even own a CD player anymore. And I hadn’t even opened some of these in 10 years, which I realized because my two Travis* CDs were snapped in half in their cases. See, 10 years ago this month – I remember because I wasn’t here for the DC earthquake – my ex stayed with the kids for a few days while I got out of town. He apparently spent a good deal of that weekend destroying things and hiding them for me to find later, like tearing up birthday cards and stashing them behind framed pictures. The pièce de résistance was finding “whore” scratched onto my spare set of glasses.
Honestly.
*Why mad at Travis in particular? Because this was the song we walked into at the wedding reception.

And you didn't stay married to that prickbastard because WHY? I mean, I know he's the sperm contributor toward your children, but I can't ever think of him without remembering that he snoozed away when you were in labor with 11. If you ever decide to forgive and forget, don't worry--I have enough petty stored up to last a lifetime.
