Today… in 1832, the first all female, all Black anti-slavery group was founded in Salem, Massachusetts. The group, founded as the Colored Female Religious and Moral Society of Salem – later renamed the Female Anti-Slavery Society – fought not only to end slavery but also for the right to vote, an end to racism and white supremacy, and fair treatment under the law.
