Winds in the east...
Change is afoot! I’m retooling the newsletter in the coming weeks, gearing it more toward abortion, reproductive health and justice. I hate to do it, but I have to focus more on areas that are part of my day-to-day work, and spend less time pulling clips. On busy days, this can get really time-consuming, and I love you, but you ain’t pay me.
Does that mean no LGBTQ or Work & Money articles? As they relate to reproductive health care, access, equity and the like, they stay.
There’s more to come, but it’s embargoed until at least tomorrow.

is the birthday of architect and engineer Julia Morgan (1872-1957), the first woman to be awarded an architecture license in California. She’s best known for her work on the Hearst Castle, but was also the lead designer for several YWCAs, buildings for Mills College and other institutions that primarily serve women and girls. (Rumor has it that she, too, primarily served women...) You can see examples of her designs across the East Bay.
is National Cheese Lovers Day. We have no fewer than five varieties in the fridge right now, but purely quantity over quality, nothing of note.
