Today…
in 1968, the Poor People's Campaign was officially launched with a Mother's Day march and rally led by Coretta Scott King, along with Ethel Kennedy and a long list of local and national leaders, to bring attention to the experiences of low-income women. (I only now put together that King’s husband had been murdered just a month before, and Ethel’s husband will be murdered just a month later. God damn.)
I’m in a funk, to be honest. I’ll spare you the details, but you remember yesterday’s “I hope I get it?” Well. I didn’t get it.
You know what would cheer me up? I mean, besides a nice full-time W-2 position with health care and paid leave?
