Today… is a Friday in late-mid-August. So for National Lemonade Day, I’m thinking less
and much more
Also because August, we’re out next week for our big camping trip and then back to school, so no newsletter until Tuesday, August 31.
This marks our 10th year of camping, which is just wild to me. I did not grow up camping. My people brought roasters of rigatonis to park shelters at most. But the first summer the kids and I were on our own, I was itching for something to do, somewhere to go on my zero budget when a friend recommended a nearby state park that has small cabins and a lake. So outside my comfort zone, but it was affordable, close and manageable enough with two littles.
Now we go a handful of times each year! But this remains the big trip, where we stay almost a week. So. Yeah. Later!
(Do they even make Country Time Lemonade commercials like the circa 1990 version that is always on my mind this time of year? You know how Coca-Cola ads basically created our contemporary image of Santa? For me, this is what Country Time Lemonade did for late summer. Just porch swings and golden hour.)
