How long must women wait?
Today…
is the birthday of Inez Milholland (1886-1916), suffragist, socialist, labor lawyer, civil rights activist, polyamorist and “a high-profile New Woman of the age.” The drama, the dress, I’m here for it.
It was also refreshing not to find “she was progressive, oh, but for the virulent racism/homophobia/xenophobia/etc.” Among other things, Inez was active in the NAACP, the Women's Trade Union League, and – love – the Equality League of Self-Supporting Women.
before Friday and I love you, is International Beer Day. Not your thing? Okay. It’s also National Root Beer Float Day.
is National Gossip Day, a Perrone high holiday. Let me tell you that nothing snaps me to attention faster than picking up the phone and my sister saying, “Rach. Listen to this.” Calendar is cleared, computer is closed, I am here.
