is Hostess CupCake Day. Never my favorite of the snack cake oeuvre – that would be the totally different HoHo – and all but unknown to my children. Hostess isn’t banned from the pantry, but I notice they’re not as popular as they were when I was their age. They get a shrug from the 13yo, and the 11yo doesn’t care for that particular tongue-coating waxiness. (You know exactly what I mean.)
