Fetus Madness
Today… I’m really sluggish and running behind this morning. But I have a quick story, a serious Rachel Classic.
One day, when I was 19 or so, I was poking around in Big Nana and Pap’s basement. Just bored, gettin’ into shit. Pap was the kind who kept everything, neatly labeled and organized, usually in cigar boxes. (Note to self: why don’t I have any of his cigar boxes??) He was an amateur boxer for a short time, a WWII paratrooper, a boxing promoter, a cop and a detective, so he had a lot of neat stuff.
Such as a cigar box full of pot paraphernalia – pipes, papers, joints, the works. Before you ask, 1) it was all old as hell, and 2) Pap was Joe Friday, straight as they come. It wasn’t his. It did come to be mine, though.
Sometime later, I asked my mother why Pap had all this stuff, and she reminded me that as head of the juvenile division, he regularly gave presentations on The Dangers Of Drugs. Comme ça:
So when I saw the news yesterday about the five fetuses, my asshole brain went, “Maybe she’s using them for presentations...”
