Duck, duck... pizza
Today…
is the birthday of Laura Clay (1849-1941), abolitionist, suffragist, co-founded the Kentucky Equal Rights Association. Wrote in her diary at 15, “I think I have a mind superior to that of many boys my age.” (“Boys ain’t shit” but make it 1864.) And then damn it Laura, came out against the 19th Amendment because “states rights.”
is the birthday of Alice Walker (1944-), who in 1983 became the first Black woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for fiction. And then damn it Alice, had to have a whole section on her Wikipedia titled Antisemitism.
is National Pizza Day, Chocolate Day and Read In The Bathtub Day, unproblematic faves all and I am taking no comments at this time.
