Do you still get into sandwiches in a big way?
This morning, I was remembering how Friday afternoons sometimes looked in The Before Times. October 4, 2013 – yes I looked it up – Obama and Biden went out for sandwiches. Weather was gorgeous, no tear gas was employed. My entire Twitter stopped, and we all watched these two stroll to Taylor Gourmet (r.i.p.) for sandwiches. Obama ordered turkey, of course, he of the seven almonds. Uncle Joe went heck yeah with the Italian hoagie.
But that was it for the better part of an hour. Just sandwiches.

BuzzFeed | Republicans Moved Amy Coney Barrett One Step Closer To The Supreme Court After Democrats Boycotted The Vote | Zoe Tillman

There's nothing inherently feminist about being a woman — and in Barrett's case, there's nothing inherently feminist about being a mother or traditionally successful working mother. This is especially true when you would use your power to take away the ability to choose or reject parenthood from others, and uphold barriers that prevent women of color or poor women from experiencing the same success.
